Pulte Requests a New DatePulte made a last minute request to change the date of the schedule meeting before the Clermont City Council.  While Pulte took matters into their own hands and placed their own signs with their own dates, City Council did grant their request for a new date.  The new date is JUNE 9, 2009.

Not knowing whether the request would be granted, Verde Ridge HOA members showed up for the scheduled meeting on April 28.  Approximately 60 residents promptly left City Hall after it was announced that Pulte's request for a new date had been granted.  According to the sign that was posted at the entrance of the development, Pulte is planning a meeting with the residents on May 4th.  Check back here for more details.

****Update:  Pulte will be sponsoring a "Town Hall" meeting (you may have seen signs in the neighborhood) on May 4th at Jenkins Auditorium (next to City Hall).  Additionally, LandArc is having a meeting at the Holiday Inn Express on May 6th.  See the Calendar for additional information.

Pulte Seeking Conditional Use Permit PDF Print E-mail

Pulte has recently filed a Conditional Use Permit with the City of Clermont to reduce the minimum acceptable living space in a home inClick here to download the letter Verde Ridge.  If passed, this permit would allow Pulte to build 100 homes with a 1250 square foot living space.  Currently the permit states that all homes are to be a minimum of 1500 square feet.  On Tuesday, April 7th, approximately 50 residents attended the Planning and Zoning meeting where Pulte presented their case.  Residents proceeded by pleaing with the P&Z Commission to not allow the permit to pass.

While the permit does not appear to have been favorable with the  P&Z Commission, final say will be up to the City Council members on April 28, 2009.  Petitioners have been walking the streets of Verde Ridge since the weekend and many of the residents have signed in a effort to stop the passage of the permit.  While this is a start, we are asking any resident who can make the April 28th meeting to please attend.

Residents are encouraged to examine the application and supplemental materials, located in the Planning Department at City Hall, prior to the meeting.
